ABOUT

As a native of the Tampa Bay area, Patty stays current with the needs of the community, including the senior population.  Patty’s passion for helping others and her interest in the aging community took a different turn when her father was diagnosed with vascular dementia. This personal experience heavily influenced her to further her education in the field of geriatrics, with a focus on memory and aging research. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Education and Behavior, as well as a master’s degree in Medical Sciences with a concentration in Gerontology from the University of Florida. Patty volunteered in several nursing homes and assisted living centers throughout Tampa Bay while completing her degree and later began working in the field of aging. She has experience as a Life Enrichment Director, Memory Care Director, Alzheimer’s Support Group Facilitator, Dementia Practitioner, and a Long-Term Care Ombudsman with the Department of Elder Affairs.

Patty’s high interest in memory care led her to study the research completed on the importance of daily activities as it relates to quality of life. When working with her memory clients, Patty utilizes the Montessori Method to promote the physical, cognitive and social development they need to cope with everyday life. She focuses on the unique needs of each client, but also provides the necessary support and peace of mind to their families.
